TSUNEISHI Supports the Canoe Slalom Athlete OKAZAKI’s First Competitive Steps in 2025

TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd. is pleased announce that canoe slalom athlete Ms OKAZAKI Haruka, with whom the company entered into a sponsorship agreement in February this year, has competed in her first major selection events of the 2025 season.

Ms OKAZAKI took part in the Reiwa 7 Japan representative selection committee and the 2025 ICF CANOE SLALOM WORLD RANKING – JAPAN OPEN, both held at the Canoe Slalom Centre in Tokyo over two days on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 April.

Competing in the Women’s Canadian (WC1) category, Ms OKAZAKI raced five times over the course of the evet and secured first place in all five selection heats. Commenting on her performance, she stated: “I gained confidence from the explosive improvement I showed, having cleared the qualifying times — the result of the winter training I’ve been doing.”

Following this outstanding achievement, Ms OKAZAKI has been officially recognised as a national team development athlete in the WC1 category. She will continue her preparations ahead of the next selection event, scheduled to take place in Iwate Prefecture on 2–3 August.
