‘I would like to thank all from the bottom of my heart for awarding me the Hiroshima University Excellent Student Scholarship. I believe that it was the support of my family and company that led to this award. The company encouraged me to enroll in the doctoral course for working adults, and with their full support, including the provision of accumulated data, I was able to continue my research. By obtaining a doctoral degree, I hope to contribute to solving the problems of the shipbuilding industry from an academic perspective, in new technical areas and with my knowledge. I will continue to carry out research that contributes to the maintenance and improvement of design quality and to the transformation of design.’
