Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc., an Overseas Group Company of Tsuneishi Shipbuilding, Completes and Delivers the Group’s 148th “TESS58″ Bulk Carrier

On May 12, 2014, Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (head office: Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture) completed construction of “GLOBAL VEGA”, a “TESS58” 57,900 MT type bulk carrier, at group company Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc., and delivered her to ship owner CANELE MARITIMA S.A. (Republic of Panama).

This vessel is the group’s 148th in the long-selling TESS (Tsuneishi Economical Standard Ship) product line, originated by Tsuneishi Shipbuilding 30 years ago, and is part of the HANDYMAX bulker series whose first ship was constructed in 2006.

In addition to being equipped with a deck crane, this ship features highly versatile capabilities to load not just bulk cargo but also steel and other materials. Designed as one of the larger ships in the highly maneuverable HANDYMAX series, “GLOBAL VEGA” has a 58,000 ton loading capacity and is equipped with environmental devices to reduce wave resistance and wind resistance. She also features improved fuel economy for higher operating profitability.
