TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING (HQ: 1083 Tsuneishi, Numakuma-cho, Fukuyama, Hiroshima, Japan; President: Sachio Okumura) has fully adopted Digital Workers*, the automation solution provided by Blue Prism Co., Ltd. (HQ: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Taishi Hase). By automating simple tasks, it is expected to save 7,000 work hours over the next fiscal year and free up personnel for high-value-added operations in order to further improve the added value provided to customers.

With the objective of improving added value for customers, TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING launched an automation project for simple tasks, conducted various studies and implemented a trial in the design department. Convinced of the benefits of automation, TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING launched a search for a tool for full-scale company-wide rollout and ultimately chose Blue Prism’s Digital Workers in consideration of management functions for operations, development productivity, and cost. The transition was completed in February 2021.
Automation, which started in the design department, has now been extended to administration and sales departments, and has been applied to approximately thirty business processes. We will continue to select and develop applicable tasks to automate. While expanding the range of automation, we will drive innovation with the goal of progressing to increasingly complex tasks. We anticipate this will boost employee job satisfaction as well as improve efficiency.
