3.6 million CFT wood chip carrier

TSUNEISHI Company of TSUNEISHI HOLDINGS CORPORATION (head office: 1083 Tsuneishi Numakuma-cho Fukuyama-city Hiroshima, CEO: Katsushige Kambara) performed a ship-naming/launching ceremony for the 3.6 million CFT (approximately 102,000㎥) wood chip carrier used for “CYGNET BULK CARRIERS S.A” in Manila, at TSUNEISHI factory in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture.The ship was named “CHUETSU SPIRIT” and successfully launched.

This ship has 6 cargo holds designed for efficient loading and discharge of wood chips. As one of the ship’s characteristics, the height of the cargo holds is higher than that of bulk carriers because of the low density of wood chips.

This ship is equipped with an energy saving propeller boss cap fin (PBCF), and additionally the propeller rotating efficiency has been improved to realize an increased energy savings. The “MO” qualification (which is authorized only for ships whose operation systems can run unattended for more than 24 continuous hours) is acquired for the engine room for rationalizing the system.
