TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Supports OKAZAKI Haruka’s Selection to Japan’s National Canoe Slalom Team – Preparing for World Cup Competition in Europe –

7 May 2026 – TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING is pleased to support canoe slalom athlete OKAZAKI Haruka, who has been selected to Japan’s national canoe slalom team following her performance in the 2026 national team selection events.

The 2026 national team selection process was originally scheduled to be determined based on the results of the 2026 Canoe Slalom Japan Cup Round 1 and Japan National Team Selection Event, together with the FY2026 Canoe Slalom and Kayak Cross Japan National Team Selection Time Trial. However, Japan Cup Round 1, which had been due to take place at the Yahagi River Canoe Slalom Course in Toyota, Aichi Prefecture, was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

As a result, the Japan National Team Selection Time Trial, held on 26 April at the Canoe Slalom Centre in Edogawa, Tokyo, became a decisive event in the national selection process. In this limited selection opportunity, OKAZAKI delivered a strong performance and secured her place on Japan’s 2026 Canoe Slalom National Team.

As a member of the national team, OKAZAKI is scheduled to compete in the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup events to be held in Europe in June. Round 2 will take place in Prague, Czech Republic, while Round 3 will be held in Augsburg, Germany. Results from these competitions will also contribute to selection for the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, scheduled for September 2026.

Prior to the World Cup events, OKAZAKI is also scheduled to compete in the 2026 Canoe Slalom Japan Cup Series Round 2, to be held in May at the Asahikawa Special Canoe Course in Okayama, Okayama Prefecture.

As OKAZAKI continues to challenge herself on the international stage, TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING will remain alongside her journey and continue to support her future endeavours.
