TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Attends “TSUNEISHI ROOM” Naming Ceremony on SEIUN MARU – Supporting the Next Generation of Maritime Professionals –

19 March 2026 – TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd. attended a signing ceremony held to formalise the naming rights for the No.1 Lecture Room aboard the large training vessel SEIUN MARU, owned by the Japan agency of Maritime Education and Training for Seafarers (JMETS).

This initiative has been undertaken jointly with KAMBARA KISEN Co., Ltd., a TSUNEISHI Group company. Under the agreement, the No.1 Lecture Room aboard SEIUN MARU will be known as the “TSUNEISHI ROOM” for a three-year period from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029. The naming rights were approved in January 2026, and the signing ceremony marked an important milestone towards the official launch of the programme.

At the ceremony, Mr OKUMURA Sachio, President & Chief Executive Officer of TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd., attended as the Company’s representative and signed the agreement together with JMETS officials. Commenting on the occasion, Mr OKUMURA said:
“For those of us engaged in shipbuilding, the development of human resources is a key priority in supporting the future of the maritime industry. We hope that the ‘TSUNEISHI ROOM’ will provide a place where students can learn, challenge themselves, and grow.”

On 23 March, representatives of TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING visited SEIUN MARU and toured No.1 Lecture Room, where the “TSUNEISHI ROOM” nameplate has been installed. During the visit, they observed the onboard training environment and educational facilities, gaining valuable insight into the setting in which students pursue their studies.

The name “TSUNEISHI ROOM” reflects the Company’s commitment to contributing to the development of maritime professionals who will support the future of the industry. It is intended to serve as a space where students aboard SEIUN MARU can freely take on new challenges while enhancing their knowledge and technical skills.
TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING will continue to strengthen collaboration with educational institutions and support the development of the next generation of maritime professionals.
