29 November 2025 – TSUNEISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES (CEBU), Inc. (hereinafter “THI”), the Philippine manufacturing base of TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd., has carried out a coastal clean-up in Sitio Boliring, Abucayan, near its shipyard.

The activity was led by TSUNEISHI FOUNDATION (CEBU), Inc. (hereinafter “TFCI”) and brought together approximately 50 volunteers from TSUNEISHI Group companies in the Philippines, along with around 30 members of the local community – a combined total of roughly 80 participants.

During the clean-up, volunteers removed plastic waste washed ashore or caught among mangrove roots due to tidal movements and seasonal typhoons, as well as discarded clothing and other household rubbish. In total, 50 bags of waste were collected, contributing to the improvement of the area’s coastal environment.

Following the clean-up, Mr KAIZAKI Ryo, Director of TFCI, commented:
“We selected the coastal area of Abucayan, close to THI, as our clean-up site because it provides an opportunity to engage with the local community and share the importance of environmental conservation. It also reminded us of the significant impact that plastic waste flowing into the sea can have on future generations, reinforcing the need to continue efforts in reducing environmental burdens.”

Mr Jelson P. Cantayas, Barangay Captain of Boliring, also expressed his appreciation for choosing the Abucayan coastline as the clean-up site.

THI and the TSUNEISHI Group will continue promoting sustainable environmental initiatives and working closely with the local community to protect the oceans for future generations.
