TSUNEISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES (CEBU) Supports Local Elementary School with Donation Activity

16 August 2025 – TSUNEISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES (CEBU), Inc. (hereinafter “THI”), the Philippine manufacturing base of TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd. carried out a community support initiative at San Roque Elementary School in Asturias, Cebu. The programme included the distribution of slippers to pupils and the serving of a warm meal.

Around 50 employee volunteers from THI and other TSUNEISHI GROUP companies in the Philippines joined activity, distributing colourful slippers to 347 pupils from kindergarten to Grade 6. The day also featured sack race relays and other games, with winners receiving suffered toys as prizes. Volunteers additionally served hot rice porridge, creating a warm. The stuffed toys given to children who won the games had been donated through the SMILE BOX* initiative run by the company’s head office in Japan, making them gifts filled with employees’ goodwill.

* About the “SMILE BOX” initiative; Led by TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING, collection boxes called “SMILE BOX” are placed at the head office and factories in Japan. Employees across the TSUNEISHI Group contribute donations through this initiative.

San Roque Elementary School expressed its appreciation through a Certificate of Appreciation, noting that the activity had contributed greatly to the children’s health and motivation to learn.

Going forward, THI and TSUNEISHI Group will continue to contribute to education and welfare in the local community, aiming to help build a sustainable society.
