Reduction of Energy Consumption

The Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Group is working to reduce GHG emissions and the amount of power consumption to establish a sound material-cycle society. We constantly audit the production process at our factories to attain ship construction which requires less energy consumption.

■ LED lighting
At our Tsuneishi factories, the lighting system is being replaced with LED  lights to reduce the amount of power consumption. Since LED lighting is known for its greater impact in CO2 reduction compared to general-purpose fluorescent lighting, we  changed our lights to LED units.

■ Visualization of Power Consumption
We put into visuals the amount of resources consumed at the Tsuneishi factory thru the use of digital technology for the purpose of further  reducing the amount of power that our factories consume.

Air compressor utilization is a good example of the  efficacy of our visualization system. The compressor used to suppy air in various processes of ship construction bears a heavy weight in power consumption at the factory. We successfully attained a significant reduction in its amount of power consumption via short-period operation and/or night operation based on data from the visuals.

This visualization initiative is being rolled out both at the Xiushan Factory in China and the Cebu Factory in the Philippines, enabling Tsuneishi Shipbuilding as a whole to build eco-friendly ships from wherever part of the world it operates in.
