About the Prize

■Award:

Chairman’s Award of the Energy Conservation Center in the Energy Conservation Case Category at the 2022 Energy Conservation Grand Prize

■Theme:

Implement the reduction of electricity consumption and the continuous decarbonization through introducing a real-time visualization system

■ About the initiative:
We introduced a system that visualized the effect of reduced electricity consumption in real time. By working on reducing standby power at night and on holidays, improving compressor operation, and issuing warnings when electricity consumption increased, electricity consumption in FY2021 was reduced by 32% (1). The peak power consumption was reduced by 19% (2) at factories and 33% (*3) at offices. Moreover, by allocating the funds raised through these energy-saving and energy conservation activities, the energy-saving equipment with high efficiency can be upgraded. The system we have structured enables us to conduct energy conservation activities continuously.

Kengo Suzuki, President of MIHO SHIPYARD said:

I am very pleased and honored to be able to receive this award as it is the whole company has been engaging in working together to conserve environment by reducing CO2 emissions. Through the initiative, the energy-saving activities have been rooted in the company. We will continue our activities to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
