Industrial Waste Reduction

The Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Group manages waste and pollutants generated throughout our business activities to promote their reduction and recycling. We are committed to 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) activities for the optimal use of natural resources.

■ Recycling Used Paint Thinner
The Tsuneishi Factory recycles used paint thinner, which previously was merely disposed of. Used paint thinner is regenerated through a recycling process that allows us to use the solvent again for another puspose —  e.g. to clean airless painting. Likewise, regenerated thinner solvents reduce the amount of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) released in the air.

■ Reducing Waste at the Xiushan Factory in China
The Xiushan Factory in China is working to reduce various types of waste. They separate water from waste oil generated at the factory to extract the oil for recycling. They also sell waste timber to a wood recycler, which allows them to achieve a 100% recycling rate for the same that is repurposed into other products and/or uses.

■ Reducing Waste at Tsuneishi and Repair Factories
Both our Shipbuilding Factory and Repair Factory are working to reduce and reuse various types of waste generated in the process of shipbuilding, ship repair, and remodeling.
