Company Trip for Technical Intern Trainees

In early spring of 2024, TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING arranged a one-day trip for trainees.
In the past, we have held a snow tour every February.
But due to the mild winter and lack of snow this year, we changed the destination to Hiroshima Castle and the Yamato Museum.

Although it was raining when we departed, by the time we arrived at Hiroshima Castle, the rain had stopped and the sky became clear.

For the 77 trainees who participated, it was their first visit to Hiroshima Castle.
The trainees were very excited to see not only the moat and gardens, but also the inside of the castle, where they were able to experience Japanese history and culture by having a look at the swords and screens on display.
From the castle tower, they could see a panoramic view of Hiroshima City.
The EDION Peace Wing Hiroshima, the general athletic playground, which opened in February of this year, was also visible nearby.

The next stop was the Yamato Museum, which exhibits a model of the battleship Yamato, an actual Navy Type 0 carrier fighter, also known as Zero fighter plane, and many other science and technology exhibits focused on WW2-era warcraft.
The trainees learned about the history of Kure City, a place associated with ships, including the technology of Japan’s military ports.

One of the trainees said, “I would definitely visit again if I had such an opportunity.”
Another intern commented “The exhibition gave us an experience to learn about the history and culture of Japan’s Warring States period, and about the Yamato and the Pacific War.”

TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING will continue to arrange various recreational activities to express our gratitude to the trainees who are working hard in Japan, far away from their home countries.
