TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd., a Group Company of TSUNEISHI GROUP, Completes and Delivers the Group’s 199 th “KAMSARMAX” Bulk Carrier

On November 14, 2014, TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd. (head office: Fukuyama, Hiroshima, Japan) completed construction of “UNITED PRESTIGE”, a 81,600 MT bulk carrier, at Tsuneishi Factory TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd., and delivered her to shipowner United Ocean Group(President: Vipan Sharma).

The vessel “KAMSARMAX bulker” was invented by TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING in 2004. The first vessel was delivered in 2005 at the head factory. “UNITED PRESTIGE” was the 199th ship in Tsuneishi Group as the total number of the KAMSARMAX bulk carrier.
TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING was the first pioneer of PANAMAX class bulk carriers, by changing the design concept from the previous 70,000 tons to over 80,000 tons (as much as 82,000 tons class). We name this new concept design as KAMSARMAX.

KAMSARMAX vessel boosts efficiency of transportation in the merchant service. The name “KAMSARMAX bulker” comes from the Port of Kamsar in which a major bauxite shipping port in the Republic of Guinea 229-meter ship length restriction for entry.
