Fukuoka, Kyushu’s largest city, boasts a wealth of shipbuilding, science and technical colleges, and is home to a variety of manufacturers related to the shipbuilding industry. The task of recruiting and keeping excellent designers is greatly facilitated in such a setting, and with the additional capacity for cooperation with various industry partners in the area, the Fukuoka office is poised to take a strategic future role for connections with China and the Philippines. Located in one of Fukuoka’s best IT environments, the office will also be developed as an information center holding Tsuneishi companies’ data bases in the future.

The Fukuoka office was designed by Kiyonori Kikutake Architecture Design (1-10-1 Otsuka, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo). The office’s design utilizes the Free Address System, an unusual configuration in which staff members share common desks, allowing a freer flow of creative exchange and mutual inspiration.
