2015 Business Cooperation Conference 13th~Samsung Heavy Industries and TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING

Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. and TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd. (head office: Fukuyama, Hiroshima, Japan) held its 13th business partnership meeting at TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING’s Head Office on April 7, 2015. The business cooperation conference is being held every year, hosted reciprocally by each company, ever since an agreement for comprehensive partnership was signed between TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd. and Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. in 2004. During this gathering, each of the departments responsible for sales, procurement, design, production and overall management held separate meetings to discuss such subjects as the efforts being made to tackle various issues as well as cooperative operations to be implemented in the future. During the meeting for overall management, participants viewed the introductory DVD on TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd. and exchanged information on such topics as the situation at overseas factories and the company’s business strategies, as well as on the shipbuilding industry overall.

The plenary meeting was attended by a total of 34 persons, with 16 from Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. and 18 from TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd. Each department reported on the cooperative activities that were conducted during 2014 by each departmental group, as well as the activities scheduled for 2015. At the end of the meeting, President Kenji Kawano gave a speech in which he stated, “meaningful and active discussions were held at each departmental meeting. This was the 13th such meeting, but the fact that two companies with no capital ties are able to exchange opinions at this level is a testament of the trust that exists between the two companies. We have also produced some results from the hints gained through such discussions. I hope that this WIN-WIN relationship will continue to develop further for even more active discussions.” The meeting closed with a speech by Vice President Jeon Tae-Heung of Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., in which he stated “it is more than 20 years since the two companies started such interactions. I hope that we will be able to continue this open relationship into the future. Thank you.”
