On March 23rd 2015, TSUNEISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES (Cebu), Inc., a Philippine Group Company of TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING, completed construction of “DREAM CANARY”, the 19th“T−CORE180” 180,000 metric ton type bulk carrier and delivered to the ship owner.

T−CORE180 is the brand name of the 18,000 metric ton type capsize bulk carrier designed and developed in 2007 by TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co., Ltd.

The number “180” refers to its 18,000-ton deadweight capacity. With a total length of 291.1 meters, breadth of 45 meters, and depth of 24.5 meters, the ship is compact in size for its class while boasting a 20,000-cubic-meter cargo capacity.

T−CORE180 incorporates many new environmentally friendly technologies such as SEAWORTHY, a bow design which enables the ship to navigate efficiently even in rough weather conditions by reducing wave resistance up to 5%, and a patented superstructure design with a slanted-corner configuration that reduces air resistance developed in cooperation with HIROSHIMA UNIVERSITY. These innovative technologies result in both enhancing fuel efficiency for improved economic performance and reducing CO2 emissions.
