History

1903
The first president, Katsutaro Kambara, founds a shipping business (Kambara Kisen Co., Ltd.)
1917
Built the "Shiohama Dockyard" where the current Tsuneishi Factory is located.
1942
Renamed the dockyard "Tsuneishi Shipbuilding" and re-established the company.
Commenced the construction and repair of wooden ships for domestic transportation.
1949
Decided the company corporate logo.
1958
Constructed the first steel ship, "Mikomaru" (a 361-dwt carrier).
1964
Built a timber carrier, No. 3 Tenshamaru (4,100-dwt).
1968
The 200,000 metric tonne Ship Repair Factory completed.
1974
Shipbuilding dock expanded to handle 120,000 metric tonne ships.
1976
Linked up with Hashihama Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
1982
A tact-type production line completed at the shipbuilding factory.
1984
Constructed the first TESS40 (the original 40,000-dwt standard carrier) series.
1985
Built the first original large container carrier (capable of holding 2,000 containers).
1986
Established the Ship Research Department.
1991
structed the largest bulk carrier (180,000-dwt) (in conjunction with Hashihama Shipbuilding).)
1992
Agreed to tie up with NKK.
Established a design company, Tsuneishi Technical Services (Phils) Inc. (TTSP) in the Philippines.
1994
Constructed the first TESS45 (an original 45,000-dwt standard carrier) series.
1997
Established Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu) Inc. (THI), the largest shipbuilding dockyard in the Philippines.
Constructed the first ship (a 23,000-dwt carrier) at THI.
1998
Opened the London Branch.
Constructed Japan's first twin skeg shuttle tanker (in conjunction with Hashihama Shipbuilding).
1999
(June) Acquired the ISO9001 certificate.
(June) Launched the 100th vessel in the TESS40/45 series.
2000
(June) Merged with Hashihama Shipbuilding.
2000
Complete construction of the first TESS52 ship (October).
2001
Establish TSUNEISHI (ZHENJIANG) STEEL STRUCTURE CO.,LTD., a company for ship outfitting, in the Dan tu Economic Development Zone in Chiangsu Province, China (June).
2003
Establish the Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Marine & Development Inc. (March)
Adopt a new logo upon the 100th anniversary of the Group (April)
Change to the Tsuneishi Corporation in English.
Establish the Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Hull-body Production Inc. (December)
2004
Form a comprehensive business alliance with Samsung Heavy Industries (March)
Execute an agreement with Hiroshima University for comprehensive research cooperation (June)
Establish Tsuneishi CRS; develop automobile recycling business (November)
2005
Completion of the first Kamsarmax ship (February)
2006
Established STRATECHT Inc. (August)
Established a donated course at Tokyo University (September)
2007
Established a design office in Fukuoka (April)
Completed “STELLA MARIS,” the 200th ship in the TESS series.
Opened Tsuneishi Group Training Facility “Sanwa-no-Mori Resort & Conference Center.” (July)
2008
Completed the first new model AFRAMAX tanker. (August)
2009
Completes and begins the operation of the new building dock at Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc. and Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding, Inc.
2010
Constructs “ Tenshumaru,“ the first ship in the T-CORE180 series at Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc. in the Philippines
2011
Spun off from Tsuneishi Holdings Corporation, bringing us to the present(January)
